The Albion Parks Department develops and maintains three town parks. Chain O' Lakes State Park is also located just four miles south of town. Nationally recognized and Accredited, Black Pine Animal Sanctuary is located west of Albion. The largest park in the town proper is Hidden Diamonds, an 89-acre site that offers an abundance of recreational options for the whole family including a Splash Pad, pavilions, ball diamonds, soccer fields, concessions, sand volleyball pit, playground, disk golf course, lighted basketball court, restrooms, and one-mile walking/biking nature trail. Albion is also home to Owen Park, home of a 911 memorial, pavilion, and more, and Valleyview Park with playground and ball field. Albion Bowl, located on State Road 9 north of Albion, also offers family bowling.
Avilla is home to Eley Memorial Park featuring a playground area, tennis courts, baseball/softball fields, horseshoe courts, basketball court and picnic areas. The Ley Street Park offers nature trails that are open for public enjoyment during daylight hours.
Cromwell Community Park is a local public park, and home to activities during Cromwell Days each summer.
Among Noble County's finest assets is Kendallville's Bixler Lake and the surrounding natural areas east of town. The 117-acre lake, and more than 500 acres on its perimeter, provide an array of recreational opportunities that include a par-27 disk golf course, pedestrian walkway, nature trail, two beaches, pavilions, playgrounds, lighted softball field, campground, tennis courts and basketball courts. The Kendallville Park and Recreation Department also maintains an 89 acre facility for outdoor sports and special events. This complex, on Allen Chapel Road, features four diamonds, three soccer fields, basketball, shuffleboard courts and parking for over 700 cars. Athletic fields are irrigated and the diamonds are lighted to professional standards. Concessions and restroom facilities are fully functional. Youth and adult softball, youth baseball and soccer is played at this location.
The Ligonier Parks and Recreation Department maintains parks and facilities that preserve open and natural spaces and provide recreational programs and services that include a recreation center, aerobics classes, youth recreation programs, park rentals, ball fields, and more. G. Martin Kenney Memorial Park , a 40-acre space, offers a one-mile walking path, lighted ball diamonds, shuffleboard courts, tennis courts, basketball courts, children's play area and picnic pavilions. The Ligonier Sports and Recreation Center is a 15,000 square foot facility that includes basketball courts, volleyball courts, a weightroom, sauna, hot tub, exercise equipment and full locker room facilities. A community room is also available for meetings and the center can be rented. Jennie Thompson Gardens features the solitude and soothing sounds of water trickling from a fountain and is a lovely setting for weddings.
Rome City is a golf-cart friendly lake community and home to five public town parks: Kelly Park, Grant Park, Gaff Park, Lakeside Park, and Sycamore Park also known as the "spillway" located on the north edge of town at Spring Lake at the town's historic dam. Gene-Stratton Porter State Historic Site is located on the south side of Sylvan Lake, an all-season ski lake with public access and boat launch, 16-miles of shoreline, fishing, and scenic island nature trails.
