LIGONIER — The Community Foundation of Noble County announced Tuesday changes in its executive director, with its current leader leaving for a job at a foundation in Kendallville and a Kendallville banker heading west to take over the lead.

ALBION — The town of Albion is considering becoming the first community in Indiana to create a residential TIF district to spur housing growth.
At the Albion Town Council’s Oct. 22 meeting, the council approved a $7,250 capped contract with Indianapolis-based accounting firm LWG to investigate the financial costs of creating a new housing development and the expected revenues which would eventually come back to the town.
County beginning to recruit census takers

KENDALLVILLE — More citizens means more money. And to know how many citizens there are, you have to go out and count them.
With the 2020 census approaching, the Census Bureau is prioritizing attracting people to sign up to be census takers, or people who are paid to go around their communities, knock on doors and record responses from their neighbors.

KENDALLVILLE — Renovations are continuing on the former East Noble Middle School, but that hasn’t stopped the Community Learning Center from approving the first batch of local organizations who will bring programming to the center when it opens.

KENDALLVILLE — Some Noble County teachers took a day out of the classroom Thursday to educate themselves about local employment opportunities in order to better pass on career information to their students.
“The EDC has organized tours for educators several times,” EDC executive director Rick Sherck said. “The goal is to help educators deliver meaningful opportunities for employment: to their students.
