Noble County's unemployment rate rose from 2.9% in December 2018 to 4.2% in January 2019. Numbers reported lag one month, so rates reported in January 2019 report work rates experienced in December. Noble County Economic Development director Rick Sherck attributes the uptick to temporary plant closings and holiday work schedules, noting one facility closed for the installation of equipment.
